# Drupal CMS: A Look at the Future of Content Management

Drupal CMS is the pre-configured variant of Drupal, born from the
Starshot initiative. It combines Drupal Core with Recipes, the Gin
Theme, and the ECA module into a ready-to-use solution. For complex
platforms, Drupal Core remains the framework of choice. arocom has

Dries Buytaert, founder of Drupal, opened a new chapter with the
Starshot initiative at DrupalCon Portland: Drupal CMS makes the
system more accessible for individuals, small businesses, and
associations, without sacrificing the core's capabilities.

## Drupal CMS and Drupal Core: The Difference

**Drupal Core** is the framework. It has been the foundation
for digital platforms for over 24 years. Drupal Core is not a
finished product, it requires technical knowledge or support
from developers. Drupal 11 is the current major version.

**Drupal CMS** combines the Core with predefined configurations,
modules, and Recipes. The result is a ready-to-use solution
that can be tested in the browser and customized via
drag-and-drop. Drupal CMS uses the Gin Theme as the backend
interface and the ECA module for workflow automation.

**Recipes** are pre-configured sets of modules and settings,
developed according to Drupal community best practices. A
blog recipe includes content type, landing page, and tags.
An e-commerce recipe provides product pages and payment
configuration. Recipes accelerate project launch.

website. Small businesses and associations that need a classic

**Drupal Core remains the better choice for:**
