A structured self-test covering four areas of neurodivergent traits: Attention & Activity (ADHD), Perception & Social (Autism spectrum), Sensory Depth (HSP), and Language, Script & Numbers (Dyslexia/Dyscalculia). 32 questions, around 5 minutes. All answers stay in your browser — arocom only sees anonymous aggregate signals. The test does not replace clinical diagnostics; it sorts your self-perception and highlights which strengths language models struggle to imitate.

Neurodivergence Self-Test — How does your brain tick?

Last updated: April 2026 · Duration: 5 min test + 3 min read

Why this matters right now

Alex Karp, CEO of Palantir, argued in a CNBC interview that long-term, two groups will remain least replaceable by AI — people with solid vocational training and people who perceive differently. You don't need to share the sharpness of the claim. The observation behind it is still interesting.

What language models do well is pattern recognition at the median. What they struggle with: sensory depth, hyperfocus on the seemingly irrelevant, breaking established thought paths, intuitive irony detection. Broadly speaking, these are the traits this test makes visible.

The test sorts your self-perception. If you lead a team or own a product, it also sorts which strengths are currently dormant in your environment.

⚠️ Important notice

This test is not a diagnostic tool. It can help you recognise patterns — an actual diagnosis of ADHD, autism, or other neurological particularities can only be made by a qualified professional (psychiatrist, psychologist). Contact points are linked in the test's results view.

Self-reflection · not diagnostic

Before you begin

32 questions across 4 areas, about 5 minutes. Pick how strongly each statement applies to you. Your answers never leave your browser.

  1. 01
Attention & Activity Traits often associated with ADHD.
  2. 02
Perception & Social Traits often associated with the autism spectrum.
  3. 03
Sensory Depth Traits of high sensitivity (HSP).
  4. 04
Language, Writing & Numbers Traits of dyslexia and dyscalculia.

Important. This test does not replace clinical diagnostics. It helps you recognise patterns — a diagnosis can only be made by a qualified professional.

What the four areas mean

The questions draw from established self-assessment instruments — ASRS v1.1 (WHO, ADHD), AQ-10 by Simon Baron-Cohen (autistic traits), HSPS by Elaine Aron (high sensitivity), and common adult screenings for dyslexia and dyscalculia. They have been reworded for this audience and are not a clinical instrument.

Attention & Activity (ADHD)

Fluctuating focus, hyperfocus, time blindness, inner restlessness. Often associated with ADHD; can also be a stress or sleep artefact.

Perception & Social (Autism)

Sensory filtering, pattern-seeking, need for routine, exhaustion after social contact. In women/AFAB people, often only recognised in adulthood.

Sensory Depth (HSP)

Overstimulation sensitivity, emotional resonance, fine perception. A personality trait, not a diagnosis — affects roughly 15–20% of people.

Language, Text & Numbers (Dyslexia/Dyscalculia)

Reading, writing, and arithmetic difficulties that persist despite practice. Adult diagnosis enables reasonable adjustments in study and work.

Why a web agency offers an ND self-test

arocom has been building digital platforms since 2012. Since the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and Germany's BFSG took effect in 2025, many companies must make digital offerings accessible according to WCAG 2.1 AA.

The debate usually revolves around screen readers, contrast, and alt text. The largest overlooked target group are people who process cognitively differently — around 15–20% of users. For them, clear language, reduced stimuli, and predictable navigation are not optional; they are the prerequisite to use your platform at all.

We build websites around these principles not because a standard requires it, but because these users spend their days with us. This self-test is our invitation — for you as a user, as a decision-maker, as a human.

Frequently asked

Is this a diagnosis?

No. This test is a structured self-picture. A diagnosis of ADHD, autism, high sensitivity, or dyslexia/dyscalculia can only be made by a qualified professional (psychiatrist, psychologist). ADHS Deutschland e.V., Autismus Deutschland e.V. and the BDP provide referrals for German speakers; outside DACH, consult your national professional association.

Are my answers stored?

No. Your individual answers never leave your browser. arocom sees only anonymous aggregate signals — for example, how many users complete the test. Health-related data under GDPR Article 9 is not processed.

Why does a web agency offer an ND test?

Because neurodivergent users are the most-overlooked audience for digital products. Clear language, reduced stimuli, and predictable navigation make websites not only ND-friendly — they also meet the minimum standard of the European Accessibility Act (WCAG 2.1 AA).

How reliable is this test?

Reliable as orientation, not as a diagnosis. The items draw from established screening instruments (ASRS, AQ-10, HSPS, adult dyslexia/dyscalculia scales) but are rewritten for this audience. High values indicate — they do not judge.
