The Challenge
Aventerra organizes experiential education trips for children and young people. The website is more than a business card: parents research offerings, book trips, and expect current, reliable information.
In late 2012, the website was running on Drupal 6 — a system that was already showing its age at the time. Since then, several Drupal generations have been released, each with its own migration requirements. At the same time, the website must communicate with an external booking tool: trip data, availability, and booking information must be automatically synchronized.
The challenge: keep a platform current over many years, maintain the booking tool integration through every upgrade, and respect the budget of a nonprofit organization.
